How to Create the Custom Domain DNS Record

The Custom Domain feature is limited to the Professional plan. You can upgrade to the Pro plan in your account settings.

The HostLaunch Pro plan includes the option to host your customer portal on your own domain (e.g. manage.yourhostingcompany.com), instead of the HostLaunch-provided subdomain (e.g. yourhostingcompany.hostlaunchcdn.com). In order to use a custom domain, you must create a CNAME record at your DNS provider.

You must create a CNAME record with the following parameters:

Type: CNAME Hostname: Preferred subdomain (e.g. manage) Target: domains.hostlaunch.io

If you use one of the DNS providers below, please follow their instructions for creating the CNAME record before setting up your custom domain in HostLaunch.

If you use a DNS provider not on this list, please follow these general instructions below at your DNS provider before setting up your custom domain in HostLaunch.

  1. Log into your DNS provider.
  2. Navigate to the domain you wish to use with Hostlaunch.
  3. Navigate to the DNS records section.
  4. Create a CNAME record with the required values.

Once this CNAME record has been created, you can now follow our instructions for adding your custom domain to HostLaunch. If you have any issues with adding your custom domain, please contact HostLaunch support.

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propogate.
