To begin using your HostLaunch account, you'll need to set up all required API keys, including your SendGrid API key. Your SendGrid API key is used by HostLaunch to send emails to your customers on your behalf. This article will show you how to get your SendGrid API key.
First, we'll create an account at SendGrid. If you already have a SendGrid account you want to use with HostLaunch, you can skip this step.
SendGrid offers a free account level which allows 40,000 emails in its first month, and then 100 emails per day forever.
Visit SendGrid's pricing page to get started creating your account.
Select the "Free" plan and then click the blue Try for Free button in the bottom right corner.
On the next page, enter your account login credentials, confirm you're a human with the reCAPTCHA code, accept their Terms of Service, and then click the blue Create Account button.
Fill in the required information on the "Tell Us About Yourself" Page and then click the Get Started button at the bottom center. Your SendGrid account is now created.
Once you're logged in to SendGrid, you can create your API key.
In SendGrid, click Settings in the left-hand menu, then clicking API Keys.
Next, click Create API Key in the upper right-hand corner.
Enter a name for the API key, then click Create and View.
Copy the API key that is displayed into the SendGrid API Key field in HostLaunch's account settings.
Your HostLaunch account can now send emails on your behalf through SendGrid.
If you haven't completed the setup of your other required API keys in HostLaunch, we recommend completing those steps now:
